On December 12, 2024, the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) held the first day of its December 2024 public meeting. The commission discussed potential actions to enhance oversight of Medicaid managed care, draft recommendations for improving external quality review of managed care, policy options related to transitions of care for children and youth with special health care needs, and potential areas for comment on the proposed Medicare Advantage (MA) and Part D rule for contract year 2026 (CY26).

On November 1, 2024, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Final Rule for Calendar Year (CY) 2025.

On November 26, 2024, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) released their proposed rule with technical changes to Medicare Advantage (MA) and Medicare Part D Prescription Drug plans for Contract Year 2026.  This rule creates policy changes based on last year’s final MA payment rule and the Inflation Reduction Act. 

On October 31, 2024, the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) met for Day 1 of their October meeting. Topics ranged from medication coverage for opioid use disorder (MOUD) to provisional plans of care to Multi-Year Continuous Eligibility for Children.
