On May 16, 2024, the Senate Finance Committee held a hearing on rural health care access, shortage, and payment problems. Chairman Ron Wyden (D-OR) indicated he and Ranking Member Mike Crapo (R-ID) were creating new legislation around maternal health care access that they would be introducing soon.
